My Practice

I am a 22-year-old artist (born 22nd January 2001) in Liverpool. My practice currently focuses on the story telling of the LGBTQ+ community, retelling their experiences of homophobia. My most recent collection of work ‘Is this House a Home?’ highlights modern day homophobia acted onto young people within our society, and particularly spotlights homophobia within the home, concerning the subject of homophobia within the family and the challenges that causes for members of the LGBTQ+ community. This year, from October 2023, I will be apart of the GAS (graduate artist scheme) at Loughborough University to advance my work and explorations into politically based subjects within my art practice.

Common practices within my work include that of screen printing, cyanotype print, monoprinting and heavily revolve around the use of gelatine. I commonly use irregular materials for my printing practice including

acrylic sheets in order to produce dynamic instillations.

At the exhibition of ‘Is this House a Home?’ t-shirts were sold in aid of Mind Out, a UK based charity that helps young people of the LGBTQ+ community with their mental health. From this sale I made £250 for the charity from screen printed posters and t-shirts.

As of October 2023 I will be open for commissions.
